Prof. Krassimir Atanassov was elected IFSA Fellow

In the beginning of February 2013, the International Fuzzy Systems Association (IFSA)  announced the annual list of new IFSA Fellows. This year, one of the eight newly elected Fellows became Prof. Krassimir Atanassov, chair of the “Bioinformatics and Mathematical Modelling” Deaprtment in IBPhBME. This is a subsequent recognition for Prof. Atanassov, who in 2012 got elected a Corresponding Member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Krassimir Atanassov is the second Bulgarian who has been elected an IFSA Fellow. The first one, Prof. Dimitar Filev, Ford Motor Company, USA, was also until 1988 an employee of the Central Laboratory of Bioautomation, succeeded by the Central Laboratory of Biomedical Engineering and the Institute of Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering.
