Emil Petrov graduated from the Technical University, Faculty of radioelectronics, Sofia – M.Sc degree in 1979. In 1982 he finished “Manipulators and Robots Control Systems” specialized course (Technical University, Sofia). He defended his Ph.D. degree in 2014 in the Institute of Robotics (Thesis: Programmable specialized controllers as embedded systems with extended possibilities). He works at the Institute of Robotics as an Associate Professor and in the IBPhBME-BAS as an electronics engineer.
Scientific trips and specializations: AEG AG, Festo GmBH, CERN, etc.
Fields of interests: Applied investigation in the field of Mechatronics and Instrumentation – programmable controllers, embedded systems, Human Machine Interface, field buses, etc.
